Brompton Design District

The Brompton programme during London Design Festival is a leading international voice on contemporary design and its most pertinent issues. Within this curated district are projects that question the role of design on a local and a global scale.

The programme curated by Jane Withers Studio, was focused around the theme ‘Material Consequences’. Brompton showcased design projects that rethink attitudes to materials and waste, and the shift to a circular economy. A block of vacated shops and offices from 197-205 Brompton Road became a stage for exhibitions, next to Brompton’s leading design shops, showrooms and museums.

The District Late Night took place on Thursday 20 September.

Brompton Design District

The Brompton Design District was the first London Design Festival design district, now thirteen years on, the programme continues to be a seedbed for experimental design in an area of London known for it's iconic, international design brands.

The cluster of design retailers and global brands first joined forces in 2006 with local cultural institutions including the Royal College of Art and the V&A to foster a space where new design can flourish.
